SINOPSIS

A loud, violent quarrel between the young woman's parents occurs as she steps outside her home. She starts having seizures when she hears screams coming from the adjacent woods. She dashes into the woods.

Grieving teenager Gretchen moves to a vacation town in the Bavarian Alps with her father Luis, stepmother Beth, and silent half-sister Alma after her mother passes away. Under the mysterious Herr König's direction, the family is building a new hotel, and in order to help Gretchen adjust, he offers her a job at the front desk. Not long after they arrive, odd things start to occur. While working at the reception desk, Gretchen witnesses several female guests throwing up; Alma experiences convulsions due to an unexplained resounding scream; and one night, while riding her bike home, Gretchen has a horrifying encounter with a hooded woman, which the police brush off as a practical joke.

Gretchen encounters Henry, a detective looking into a homicide that may be connected to the hooded woman. Additionally, she befriends a visitor named Ed, and the two decide to flee together. Their attempt to flee is, however, foiled when they encounter an unsettling time loop, almost run over the hooded woman, and have their car crash, leaving Gretchen critically hurt and confined to the resort. Henry tells Gretchen that he thinks the hooded woman is guilty of at least one murder; the victim choked to death on her own vomit, and her weird screeching confused the victim's husband.

They think there might be a connection between one of the vomiting women Gretchen witnessed earlier. Staking up a cottage with Henry, she watches as the hooded lady attacks Gretchen's colleague Trixie, attempting to implant her with an enigmatic slime.
