Rogue (2007) BluRay



An American journalist on assignment in the Australian outback encounters a man-eating crocodile while trapped on a rapidly flooding mud island.


Rogue is a 2007 Australian independent horror film written, produced and directed by Greg McLean, about a group of tourists in Australia who fall prey to a giant, 25 ft (7.6 m) man-eating crocodile. It stars Radha Mitchell, Michael Vartan, and Sam Worthington.


SYNOPSIS ROGUE

American travel journalist Pete McKell (Michael Vartan) joins a small group of tourists on a crocodile-watching river cruise in Kakadu National Park of Australia's Northern Territory, led by wildlife researcher Kate Ryan (Radha Mitchell). Toward the end of the cruise, Everett (Robert Taylor) spots a flare in the distance and the group head up river to investigate. They eventually come across a half-sunken wreck when something crashes into their boat, splitting the side.




Kate manages to steer the boat ashore a small island in the middle of the river. Moments after, Everett is pulled into the water by an unseen predator and disappears. Kate realises they are in a crocodile's territory and explains they must leave the island by nightfall, as the tide will start to rise and the island will be submerged. Two locals, Neil (Sam Worthington) and Collin (Damien Richardson), arrive at the island but the crocodile smashes into their boat; Neil manages to swim to the island safely but Collin is killed.


As night falls, Neil carefully swims to the riverbank in order to string a rope between two trees, creating a zip-line that will allow the group to cross the river. Everett's wife Mary Ellen (Caroline Brazier) crosses first, only to freeze in fear halfway across. Allen (Geoff Morrell), becoming impatient and aggressive, attempts to get himself and his daughter Sherry (Mia Wasikowska) across with Mary Ellen still on the line. While trying to secure the rope, Neil is attacked and killed by the crocodile. The tree holding the rope breaks and the three on the line fall into the water. They manage to swim back to the island, but as Allen crawls up the shore, the huge crocodile lunges out of the water and throws him back into the river where he is dragged under.


Later that night, Pete suggests they should use bait on a hook to distract the crocodile on one side of the island while everyone else swims to the riverbank; Kate hooks two dead birds. After a long wait, the anchor is suddenly pulled and the group make a break for the far shore. The crocodile suddenly lets go of the bait, seizes Kate and drags her underwater. Pete hurriedly makes the swim across the river with Kate's dog Kevin in tow and heads off into the bush to meet up with the others.




As day breaks, Pete is forced to chase Kevin into the bush after he runs off. He falls down a narrow chute into a large cave, where he discovers Neil's mangled corpse. He realises that the cave is the crocodile's lair and, to his surprise, finds Kate alive but badly injured. Pete attempts to carry her out but Kevin hears noises and runs off to see what it is and is killed as the crocodile had returned. It makes several attempts to kill them both and Pete's hand gets severely bitten. Pete then props a large broken log against a boulder, with the sharp end pointing outwards, and as the crocodile lunges at him, Pete successfully impales it through the head, killing it. He escapes from the cave with Kate to join the surviving tourists and waiting paramedics.

As the credits roll, the camera focuses on a newspaper article detailing Pete's heroic battle with the beast and rescue of Kate.

Years after a plague kills most of humanity and transforms the rest into monsters, the sole survivor in New York City struggles valiantly to find a cure.

I Am Legend is a 2007 American post-apocalyptic action thriller film[4][5] loosely based on the 1954 novel of the same name by Richard Matheson. Directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman and Mark Protosevich, the film stars Will Smith as US Army virologist Robert Neville. It is set in New York City after a virus, which was originally created to cure cancer, has wiped out most of mankind, leaving Neville as the last human in New York, other than nocturnal mutants. Neville is immune to the virus, and he works to develop a cure while defending himself against the hostile mutants. It is the third feature-film adaptation of Matheson's novel following 1964's The Last Man on Earth and 1971's The Omega Man.






SYNOPSIS I AM LEGEND

An attempt to genetically re-engineer the measles virus to cure cancer becomes lethal, infecting 99% of the world's population, turning those it does not kill into vampiric, albino, cannibalistic mutants called Darkseekers, who are extremely vulnerable to sunlight, and prey on the few who are left unaffected.


Three years after the outbreak, in 2012,[8] U.S. Army virologist LTC Robert Neville lives an isolated life in the deserted ruins of Manhattan, unsure if any other uninfected humans are left. Neville's daily routine includes experimenting on infected rats to find a cure for the virus, searching for food and supplies, and waiting each day for any survivors who might respond to his continuous recorded radio broadcasts, which instruct them to meet him at midday at the South Street Seaport. Flashbacks reveal that his wife, Zoe, and daughter, Marley, died in a helicopter accident during the chaotic evacuation of Manhattan as the military was enforcing a quarantine of the island. Neville himself stayed behind with other military personnel. Neville's only companion is his German Shepherd Samantha (Sam) and to cope with his loneliness, he regularly "talks" to some mannequins and the characters on film recordings from video stores. At night, he barricades himself with Sam inside his heavily fortified Washington Square Park home to hide from the Darkseekers.




One day as Neville hunts a deer, Sam pursues it into a dark building. Neville cautiously goes in after her and locates the deer's corpse along with Sam, but discovers the building is infested with Darkseekers. Both escape unharmed and the attacking Darkseekers are killed by the sunlight. Neville finds a promising treatment derived from his own blood, so he sets a snare trap and captures a female Darkseeker. A male Darkseeker attempts to pursue them but is halted by the sunlight and returns to the shadows. Back in his laboratory in the basement of his house, Neville treats the female seemingly without success.


The next day, Neville notices "Fred", a mannequin usually at the local video store, positioned outside Grand Central Terminal and shoots him in confusion. However, Neville realizes he is being watched by the Darkseekers from within nearby buildings. As he approaches Fred's body, he is ensnared in a trap similar to the one he used to capture the female and is rendered unconscious after hitting his head. By the time he wakes up the sun is setting and he is attacked by infected dogs. Neville and Sam eliminate them, but Sam is bitten during the fight. Neville injects her with a strand of his serum, but when she shows signs of infection, Neville is forced to strangle her to death as she begins to turn. Heartbroken and driven by rage, Neville ventures out and deliberately attacks a group of Darkseekers the following night, before he is rescued by a pair of immune humans, Anna and a young boy named Ethan, who have traveled from Maryland after hearing his broadcast.


They transport the injured Neville back to his home, where Anna explains that they survived the outbreak aboard a Red Cross evacuation ship from São Paulo, and are making their way to a survivors' camp in Bethel, Vermont. Neville argues that no such survivors' camp exists. As he continues working to cure the female Darkseeker, Neville theorizes that by lowering her body temperature with ice, he can increase the treatment’s potency. The next night, a group of Darkseekers, who tracked Anna and Neville the night before, invade the house.




Neville, Anna, and Ethan retreat into the basement laboratory sealing themselves in with the female test subject. Discovering that the last treatment was successful, Neville assesses the situation as the Darkseeker alpha male rams himself against a glass door to break in. Neville draws a vial of blood from the woman he cured, and gives it to Anna, before shutting Ethan and her inside a coal chute in the back of the lab. Neville then takes a grenade and kills the Darkseekers at the cost of his own life, saving the cure.


The following day, Anna and Ethan arrive at the survivors' camp in Bethel, where they are greeted by military officers and other survivors before Anna hands them the cure. Anna narrates how Neville's efforts and sacrifices to save humanity ultimately became legend.

  • Will Smith as Dr. Robert Neville: A former U.S. Army virologist before the worldwide plague, he loses his wife and daughter in a helicopter crash shortly after Manhattan is quarantined, and spends the next three years trying to find a cure while defending himself against the Darkseekers. He is immune to the virus and uses vials of his blood to try to create a cure.
  • Alice Braga as Anna Montez: A religious survivor from Brazil, she spent days harbored on a Red Cross ship in Philadelphia. After the city was overrun, she stayed with Ethan and several other survivors on the ship, but eventually, only Ethan and she survived since they were immune and the others were either infected or killed. She followed Neville's broadcasts to track him.
  • Charlie Tahan as Ethan: A boy from Philadelphia, he spent time on the Red Cross ship with Anna and accompanied her when the ship was overrun.


  • Dash Mihok as Alpha Male, the dominant male of the vampire-like mutants, Darkseekers, he is determined to get his mate back from Neville, defying Neville's perception of them as mindless and emotionless creatures.
  • Emma Thompson as Dr. Alice Krippin: The doctor who creates the cancer cure, she inadvertently brings mankind to the brink of extinction. Neville dubs the virus "the Krippin virus". Thompson's performance is uncredited.
  • Salli Richardson as Zoe Neville, Robert's wife
  • Willow Smith as Marley Neville, Robert's daughter (Willow is the real life and biological daughter of Will Smith.)

Taare Zameen Par (2007) BluRay



An eight-year-old boy is thought to be a lazy trouble-maker, until the new art teacher has the patience and compassion to discover the real problem behind his struggles in school.


SINOPSIS TAARE ZAMEEN PAR

Ishaan Nandkishore Awasthi is an 8-year-old boy with dyslexia and thus has trouble following school, though he is assumed by all to hate learning, and is belittled for it. His imagination, creativity, and talent for art and painting are often disregarded. His father, Nandkishore Awasthi, is a successful executive who expects his children to excel, and his mother, Maya Awasthi, is a housewife frustrated by her inability to educate Ishaan. Ishaan's elder brother, Yohan Awasthi, is an exemplary student and athlete in whose shadow Ishaan remains.


Fed up with his failure, Ishaan's father sends him to a boarding school. Alone there, he rapidly sinks into a state of fear, anxiety, and depression. His only friend is Rajan Damodharan, a physically disabled boy who is one of the top students. The school teachers are even more abusive than his old school's. Ishaan contemplates suicide but Rajan saves him.




Ishaan's condition improves when a new art teacher, Ram Shankar Nikumbh, a cheerful and optimistic instructor at the Tulips School for young children with developmental disabilities, joins the boarding school. Nikumbh's teaching style is markedly different from that of his strict and abusive predecessor, and he quickly notes Ishaan's unhappiness. He reviews Ishaan's work and concludes that his academic shortcomings are indicative of dyslexia.


Nikumbh then flies to Mumbai to visit Ishaan's parents, where he is surprised to discover Ishaan's hidden interest in art. He demonstrates to Ishaan's parents how Ishaan has extreme difficulty in understanding letters and words due to dyslexia. Nandkishore labels it as mental retardation and dismisses it as laziness. Frustrated by Nandkishore's negligent attitude, Nikumbh leaves. Nandkishore then realizes his mistake and feels guilty for his mistreatment of Ishaan.

Back at school, Nikumbh brings up the topic of dyslexia in a class by offering a list of famous people who were dyslexic. He comforts Ishaan, telling him how he struggled as a child as well. Nikumbh obtains the principal's permission to become Ishaan's tutor. With gradual care, he attempts to improve Ishaan's reading and writing by using remedial techniques developed by dyslexia specialists. Eventually, both Ishaan's demeanor and his grades improve.


At the end of the school year, Nikumbh organises an arts and crafts contest for the staff and students, judged by artist Lalita Lajmi. Ishaan's work makes him the winner and Nikumbh, who paints Ishaan's portrait, is declared the runner-up. The principal announces that Nikumbh has been hired as the school's permanent art teacher.




When Ishaan's parents meet his teachers on the last day of school, they are left speechless by the transformation in him. Overcome with emotion, Nandkishore thanks Nikumbh. Before leaving, Ishaan runs toward Nikumbh, who lifts him high up in a hug.

The Contractor (2007) BluRay



The Contractor is a 2007 American action film directed by Josef Rusnak starring Wesley Snipes, Eliza Bennett, Lena Headey and Ralph Brown. The film was released on direct-to-DVD in the United States on July 10, 2007


SYNOPSIS THE CONTRACTOR

Retired CIA black-ops hitman James Jackson Dial (Wesley Snipes) is living his life in seclusion on his ranch in Montana when he is offered the chance to redeem himself by his former employer, Jeremy Collins (Ralph Brown). Some years earlier, Dial had been seconds away from taking down notorious terrorist cell leader Ali Mahmoud Jahar (Nikolay Sotirov) but his carelessness allowed Jahar to escape, marking his assignment as a failure.

Now Collins wants Dial to complete his task by assassinating Jahar, who has been captured and is now in the custody of the police in London, England. Provided with a safe house, passports, and an assistant, Terry Winchell (Richard Harrington), Dial is off to London to complete unfinished business. Disguised as a priest, Dial gets into position in a church bell tower across the street from the building that Jahar is being brought into. When Jahar is brought out of the police van, his head is covered by a jacket, leaving Dial without a clean shot. Not wanting to fail again, Dial patiently waits for his opportunity.

Moments later, from his high vantage point, Dial spots Jahar standing inside the building with his back to the window. Dial grasps the opportunity and shoots through the glass, fatally hitting Jahar in back of his head. Because of the delay caused by a pair of cops, Winchell is late in bringing the getaway car, and this brings attention to them fleeing the scene. After numerous attempts to stop the car, the police open fire, killing Winchell. The car, now out of control, comes to crashing stop, injuring Dial. But Dial manages to get out of the crashed car.


On the run and bleeding profusely, he makes his way to the safe house, where he meets curious 12-year-old neighbor Emily Day (Eliza Bennett), who lives with her grandmother (Gemma Jones). Emily helps Dial stop the bleeding. Even though Jahar has been eliminated, the assignment is still considered to be failure by Collins because Dial had been filmed fleeing the scene by a security camera.

Meanwhile, Collins is being investigated in the US for running a CIA hit squad, and if the truth gets back about Dial and the death of Chief Inspector Andrew Windsor (Charles Dance) which happens during a shoot-out, Collins will be exposed. Stopping at nothing to keep his name clean, Collins frames Dial for the murder of the chief inspector, even though Collins was actually responsible for his death. Dial, now a wanted man by Collins and the British police, must do whatever it takes to prove his innocence, knowing that Inspector Annette Ballard (Lena Headey), Windsor's vengeful daughter, is also after him.

While Dial is being pursued by Collins and his rogue hit squad, Dial saves the life of Inspector Ballard, who found herself in Collins' cross hairs. Having earned Ballard's trust, Dial is seen by Ballard bidding farewell to young Emily who played a key role in Dial's survival. Later on, it is shown that Dial sent Emily a letter, along with two tickets to America, to see him and his horse Beauty on his ranch. The last scene shows Emily and Dial at the ranch in Montana, watching Beauty run free.

Fantastic Four : Rise Of The Silver Surfer (2007) BluRay



The Fantastic Four learn that they aren't the only super-powered beings in the universe when they square off against the powerful Silver Surfer and the planet-eating Galactus.

Reed (Ioan Gruffudd), Susan (Jessica Alba), Johnny (Chris Evans) and Ben (Michael Chiklis) face an intergalactic messenger who has arrived to prepare Earth for its destruction. While the enigmatic being wreaks havoc around the world, the heroic quartet must also contend with the unexpected return of their enemy, Victor Von Doom.


SYNOPSIS FANTASTIC FOUR : RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER

Set two years after the first film, Reed Richards and Sue Storm are preparing for their wedding. A silver object enters Earth's atmosphere, radiating cosmic energy that creates massive molecular fluctuations and causes deep craters at locations across the Earth. The government approaches Reed to build a sensor to track the movements of the object.

As the wedding begins (humorously, Stan Lee has a cameo where he attempts to enter the wedding), Reed's systems detect the phenomenon approaching New York City, causing a massive power blackout. The object destroys the sensors while the Fantastic Four protect the crowd. The Human Torch pursues the object, discovering that it is a humanoid, a "Silver Surfer." He confronts the Surfer, who drags Johnny into the upper atmosphere where the lack of oxygen and low air pressure snuffs his flame out, then drops him back toward Earth. Johnny manages to reactivate his powers and survives the fall. Later, when Sue tries to comfort Johnny, she touches his shoulders and their powers switch - he becomes invisible, and she is set on fire; when they touch again their powers revert back. Reed's examination of Johnny reveals that exposure to the Surfer has set Johnny's molecular structure in flux, allowing him to switch powers with his teammates through physical contact. Tracing the cosmic energy of the Surfer, Reed discovers that a series of planets the alien had visited before Earth have all been destroyed.

The Surfer has been creating a number of deep artificial craters around the globe. Reed determines that the next crater will appear in London, and the team travel there. They are just in time to avert the destruction of the London Eye by the effects of the Surfer's passing, and save its passengers, although the rescue is jeopardized when Johnny accidentally touches Reed and switches powers with him. The Surfer departs, and the Thames drains into the crater.

The Surfer's movements around the globe bring him past Latveria, where the cosmic energy affects Victor Von Doom, freeing him from two years as a metal statue. Doom, able to move again but scarred, traces the Surfer to the Arctic and makes him an offer to join forces. When the Surfer rebuffs him, Doom attacks. The Surfer returns fire, blasting Doom through the ice. The cosmic energy of the Surfer's blast heals Doom's body, reversing the changes seen in the first film.
